Coconut Milk, Matcha Green Tea Latte
Coconut Milk, Matcha Green Tea Latte

Every morning I look forward to my creamy and delicious green tea latte. Green tea is known for its antioxidant-rich and detoxifying abilities, and is a key nutrient that can help protect the body from the damage of high blood sugar levels. There is also data showing it has beta cell preserving qualities for those with diabetes that still have slight beta cell function. It’s a healthy alternative to the many caffeine options that are filled with sugar and chemicals.

This super simple recipe is customizable and is the perfect, healthy punch to start your day.

Ingredients:

  • 1 tbsp Green Matcha Tea Powder
  • 1 cup of coconut/almond milk
  • Stevia — add for sweetness to your liking

Instructions:

  1. Heat coconut milk in a small saucepan or milk frother (do not boil)
  2. Pour into a standard cup and add green tea powder and stevia
  3. Whisk all ingredients together thoroughly

I enjoy this creamy, smooth and delicious hot latte with my breakfast in the mornings. It partners well with my chia seed pudding or super fiber-rich, low-carb flax seed muffin.
